"Strengthening Canada's Environmental Community
Through International Regime Reform:
Twenty-First Century Challenges"

This conference identifies effective ways for Canadians to participate more cohesively and directly in the international trade systems that affect their natural environment, food, health, and safety. It analyzes the social and environmental impacts of existing trade liberalization on Canadians, and explores new strategies for regulation and risk assessment, environmental information, voluntary standards-setting, and participation by civil society. These strategies aim at allowing Canadians to participate in the World Trade Organization and North American Free Trade Agreement in more unified and socially sustainable ways.

Workshop Highlights:

Rules for Food and Agriculture in a Globalizing Era
